This is a custom 12" figure lot of 4- fictional western TV characters, the Cartwrights from the tv series Bonanza. Bonanza ran on NBC from September 12, 1959 to January 16, 1973. Bonanza was NBC's longest running western tv series and overall the second longest running western tv series after CBS's Gunsmoke. The series was based on the fictional Cartwright family taking place near Virginia City, Nevada near Lake Tahoe in the 1860's. The Cartwright family owned the Ponderosa ranch (a thousand square miles) and were involved in ranching which included cattle, mining, and logging. Ben Cartwright (played by Lorne Greene) was widowed three times and had a son with each wife. Ben's oldest son was Adam Cartwright (played by Pernell Roberts. Adam was an architectural engineer who built the ranch house. Eric "Hoss" Cartwright (played by Dan Blocker) was the second oldest son, a fun loving gentle giant but a tough fighter when provoked. The youngest son was Joseph "Little Joe" Cartwright (played by Michael Landon) who was hotheaded and quick with a six-gun. The Cartwrights had a Chinese cook named Hop Sing (played by Victor Sen Yung). The nearest town to the Ponderosa was Virginia City where sheriff Roy Coffee (played by Roy Teal) or deputy Clem Foster (played by Bing Russell) upheld the law. There were some different cast members in later years but these were the main characters. Bonanza ran for 14 seasons (431 episodes) and was NBC's longest running western. Bonanza had some great stories with interesting characters showing up at the Ponderosa. This was one of the coolest shows on tv when it was on. you can sometimes find this series on dvd or channels that run old westerns or tv series. PLEASE NOTE- While this figure lot does not look exactly like the characters or the actors, there is a bit of a resemblance. This figure lot is made for display and not play for the old west / western tv fan. metal six-guns made- 1 by marxman (Adam's) and 3 by stevos (Joe's, Ben's, Hoss's). holsters and gunbelts custom made. The lot displays well. stands included. sold as is. Please note the following -when a figure is a custom figure that means it is not a licensed product,or "official" but something the customizer did by combining figures and accessories from different makers and toy releases to come up with the custom figure or figures. I started customizing figures a few years back because I couldn't find more than a handful of "official" releases and unable to find figures of people I wanted to collect. I checked into the market of custom figures. Most of the custom figures available back then cost several hundred dollars, so, I started doing my own. Because I needed to support my new hobby, I started selling some custom figures. My prices reflect my acquisition cost, time involved, and some profit. Thanks for the look, have fun shopping!
