Vintage GI Joe 11" 29th Infantry Division World War 2 WW2 1st Wave Normandy 1996. The 29th Infantry Division ( 29th ID ), also known as the " Blue and Gray Division ", is an Infantry division of the United States Army based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Formed in 1917, the division deployed to France as a part of the American Expeditionary Force during World War I. Called up for service again in World War II, the division's 116th Regiment, attached to the First Infantry Division, was in the first wave of troops ashore during Operation Neptune, the landings in Normandy, France. It supported a special Ranger unit tasked with clearing strong points at Omaha Beach. The rest of the 29th ID came ashore later, then advanced to Saint-Lô, and eventually through France and into Germany. Figure comes as shown, and apparently this poor guy lost his weapon scrambling to get off his landing craft. Unique design, figure has a scar on his right cheek (left as seen by us). Includes army khaki jacket with 29th Infantry Division insignia and pants with boots and helmet with strap. Jacket and pants do not have manufacturers label - unknown if these are original or aftermarket but it all fits as it should. Does not include any weapon, we have him a 'lead pipe' melee weapon for the photos which can be included if you want (it's actually an old tent stake, but let's use a little imagination here 😉). A replica M1 Garand can be found online for around $15. Item comes exactly as shown, no more - no less. No original packaging, item will come polybagged and ships from WI in sturdy box. Serial #21401 please message us with any additional questions or if you'd like more photos. Thanks for checking out our listing!
