1985 HULK HOGAN AS THUNDERLIPS WRESTLING RING WITH FIGURE REMCO ROCKY WWF.
This one is for the serious wrestling figure collector. Up for grabs here is the unbelievably scarce Hulk Hogan Thunderlips Wrestling Ring set from Remco. Released in 1985 to capitalize on the growing popularity of Hulk Hogan, this rarely-seen set is about as crudely assembled as it is enticing. You'll note that the figure and ring barely match up with the picture on the box. The bonus Hulk Hogan figure is just a re-issued Thunderlips figure from two years prior; Remco couldn't even be bothered to paint the whole figure! Moreover, the ring posts and ropes almost look homemade compared to the box picture; another cost-cutting move by Remco. But, boy, is this a rare find despite how much Remco cheaped out on it. This one barely turns up on the secondary market, mostly because it was produced in such small quantities upon its 1985 release.
Condition: Hulk figure has tight joints and is in excellent condition. Original parts bag is still sealed. (Rope, Posts, Directions and Championship Belt.) Box is a soft thin light cardboard. There is wear throughout with rips, tears, staining and general overall age wear. One side has missing side flaps and some pieces torn out as pictured. A very old thin water stain line can be seen on front and more so on the back side. Overall this box still displays very nicely.
