He witnesses Mace Windu kill his father and vows to follow in his footsteps to become a bounty hunter. He becomes one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. He shows up in Empire Strikes Back hunting Han Solo. He has Han frozen in carbonite to transport him to Jabba the Hutt. He meets what is thought to be his demise in Return of the Jedi when he is swallowed by the Sarlacc. He ends up with his own Disney+ series.
